What to wear & what not to wear
in a job interview
“If you have to question an item, don’t wear it”
The first impression during a job interview is crucial! The outfit you wear to an interview is very important because a future employer looks at what you’re wearing and how you carry yourself. This can greatly impact their judgement about you and be the deciding factor on whether you get the job or not.
Your outfit should be chosen in respect to the company who is interviewing you. You might dress more casual if you were applying to a small local pet store but if you are applying to a big company, business professional is a must! That being said, a fashion company will absolutely be paying attention to the outfit you selected, and in fact it will be part of your resume.
Going beyond the company, if you know the name of the person who is interviewing you, take a look at their LinkedIn to investigate how they dress. Work to match their style. For most positions, it’s always better to overdress than under dress.
For this blog, we are going to give tips and advice to those going into a business professional interview.
